MUMBAI, 18 FEBRUARY 2012

Mr Michael Heng, President and CEO of Energycorp Global, a Singapore-based corporate sustainability consulting and renewable energy services company, received the 2012 Global CSR Leadership Award during the first World CSR Day (www.worldcsrday.com) on 18 February 2012 from Dr M Veerappa Moily, the Honourable Minister of Corporate Affairs in the Indian Government.

The Global CSR Leadership Award is part of a number of Global CSR Awards presented at the inaugural World CSR Day celebrated at the Taj Lands End Hotel, Mumbai, on 18th February 2012. The day-long event was guided and attended by corporate leaders, many from known global brands, who believe in the value of sustainable CSR.

According to Dr Bhatia, Founder of World CSR Day, the Awards are research based and decided by an Independent Jury. The Awards merit recognition to contributions made by an organization or individual which has made a difference to the people and the community. In its notification of the Award, Michael was informed that his Global CSR Leadership Award “recognizes the valuable contribution made by you”. The Award consists of a Statuette and a Citation.

Blue Dart Express Limited, the premier courier and integrated express package distribution company in South Asia, and part of the global DHL Group, also presented the Blue Dart Global CSR Awards which recognized contribution across categories such as Best Corporate Social Responsibility Practices, Support and Improvement in Quality of Education, Diversity and Human Resource, Concern for Health, Poverty Alleviation, Accounting for Climate Change, Carbon Footprint Accounting, Community Development, Regulation of Corporate Social and Environmental Behaviour, Social Entrepreneurship.

The Global CSR Awards recognized corporate social responsibility (CSR) champions across various industries and were part of the first World CSR Day.
